What qualities should students have to be successful at Kate's Art School? 

At Kate's Art School, we teach the tools and techniques. And by tools, we mean all sorts of tools. Some big equipment, some sharp tools, some tools that require muscle, some utensils that require extra care and safety! 

To be successful in our studio environment students must be able to independently handle these tools with care and have control and awareness. 

In our program, we focus on building control and awareness in students between the ages of 6 to 8. This is the foundation stage where we assess their level of proficiency. Once they have demonstrated this level of control, we can move on to teach more advanced usage of the tools to children enrolled in our 9-12 year old class. As students grow into teenagers, our aim is to instill confidence in them so that they feel comfortable using these tools whenever they need to and as liberally as they desire.
