Three Days: July 9, 10 & 11; 1:00-4:00pm
Brushstrokes and Beyond is a dynamic three-day camp designed specifically for aspiring young artists aged 9-12 years old. In this immersive experience, students will embark on a creative journey to develop and expand their basic drawing skills.
Through engaging activities and expert guidance, students will learn the art of perceiving and expressing visual relationships, enabling them to bring their imaginations to life on paper. From understanding the intricacies of composition to mastering the depiction and manipulation of form, space, and light, our campers will explore the limitless possibilities of two-dimensional art.
In our well-equipped studio, students will work with a wide range of values, using pencils, charcoal, and ink to create captivating drawings. They will then unleash their creativity using vibrant paints, brushes, and other artistic tools to transform their sketches into stunning paintings. With each stroke, they will learn to convey emotions, textures, and moods, and discover the magic of color mixing and blending.
Kate will foster a nurturing environment where students can freely express themselves, experiment with various techniques, and receive personalized feedback and guidance. Along the way, they will also gain valuable skills such as patience, observation, and attention to detail, which are fundamental to becoming a proficient artist.
At the end of the camp, each participant will proudly showcase their portfolio of original artworks, demonstrating their newfound proficiency and artistic growth. Join us at Brushstrokes and Beyond, where creativity knows no bounds, and every stroke tells a story!
$260. All materials are included except for aprons/smocks. Aprons required and can be brought from home, or purchased at Kate's Art School.
